Medical University of the Americas (MUA)

Medical University of the Americas, or MUA for short, is a medical school located in the island of Nevis. It started in 1998 and it has a track record of being a challenging medical school. The school has  over 700 students who are already practicing either in residency or as fully licensed physicians in the US.

MUA sets up all the core rotations for their students. Unfortunately, students have to set up their own elective rotations. Also, the school does not allow students to go through third parties to set up their elective rotations, they prefer students to go directly through the coordinator of hospitals and medical centers. This is a stressful process because students have a hard time with studies, finances, and shelf exams, and they have to look for elective spots. MUA pays for the core rotations from the tuition but they require students to pay extra fees for elective rotations if the school is not affiliated with hospital and if the elective rotation is more than $250 per week..
